CLUB MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY

Our mission is to be the leading community-focused football club in Dulwich. We aim to provide accessible, enjoyable, and structured football opportunities for all ages and abilities. We are committed to developing not just skilled players, but also well-rounded individuals who understand the value of teamwork, discipline, and respect, both on and off the pitch.

OUR CLUB

  • Dulwich Village Football Club provide highly qualified managers, coaches and facilities in Dulwich and surrounding areas to develop footballers from age 6 upwards. We welcome players from all backgrounds, and our goal is to provide an environment of excellence and fun from junior to senior age groups. We want to widen the opportunity for young people to take part in competitive football.

Established in 2008, the Club uses FA certified coaches. Child welfare and protection is front and centre of and underpins what we do, and we operate a very strict code of conduct. We can offer a limited number of bursaries, in appropriate cases that are supported by evidence, to players that are experiencing financial hardship.

We have invested in our managers and coaches in order that we can achieve the highest standards. They, like all our volunteers, are all strictly vetted against the Football Association process before engagement by or involvement with the club.

  • Dulwich Village Football Club (DVFC) is dedicated to widening opportunities for young people to play competitive football within a fun, safe, and highly supportive environment. Embracing players from all backgrounds, the club blends a professional atmosphere with a deep commitment to the local community, utilising FA-certified coaches who place child welfare and a strict code of conduct at the core of their operations. Beyond developing on-pitch technical skills, DVFC’s mission emphasises holistic youth development - fostering life skills like teamwork, self-discipline, and emotional resilience - while actively expanding its girls' teams and offering financial hardship bursaries to ensure football remains accessible to everyone.

  • At the heart of Dulwich Village FC’s coaching philosophy is a player-centered, holistic approach that prioritizes long-term personal growth over short-term match results. Aligned with the FA's 4-Corner Model, the club’s FA-certified coaches focus on developing the technical, psychological, physical, and social attributes of every player. Training sessions are designed to be high-tempo, inclusive, and game-realistic, encouraging players to embrace mistakes as vital learning opportunities rather than failures. By blending structured skill development with positive reinforcement, the club cultivates a safe, supportive environment where young athletes develop not just technical football proficiency, but also essential life skills like teamwork, emotional resilience, and self-discipline.

Commitment to both match days and training sessions is the heartbeat of Dulwich Village FC. When young players show up consistently for their teammates, they learn firsthand that individual development and team success are deeply interconnected. This dedication builds essential life skills that extend far beyond the pitch. Cultivating a strong work ethic and learning accountability teaches players that reliability is the foundation of trust. Navigating the highs and lows of a season instills resilience, sportsmanship, and emotional maturity. Ultimately, the discipline required to honor their commitment to the club transforms youth players into collaborative, dependable individuals who carry these core values into their classrooms, friendships, and future endeavors.

  • We have 55 youth teams including 11 girl's teams and a women and men's team. These teams play across the Kent Youth League, Junior Premier League, South East London & Kent League, Tandridge League, Kent County League and the Greater London Women's Football League. As part of our club development plan we are also looking to introduce disability football in the near future.
