An energetic Dulwich Village U15 White emerged as comfortable 3-1 winners after they contested local rivals Dulwich United U15 Yellow on Sunday morning. The result of this top of the table clash confirms Dulwich Village U15 White as triumphant in their title-winning hopes, with still one game left to play. The high-flyers are now the Selkent U15 C Silver champions, which has promoted them to the B Silver division for the 2025/26 season.
The U15 White certainly know how to entertain; todays match takes them to a whopping 32 goals scored in their last six matches, with an astonishing 1 goal conceded. The successors showed phenomenal courage in the face of adversity after Freddie Dolan’s illness and injuries to Ludo Galloway and Sonny Palmer did not stop them persevering.
The game opened up instantly when Felix Joliot calmly slotted it past the keeper to put Dulwich Village ahead in the first minute. The composed finish brought pure elation to the U15 White camp as they had their hearts set on the league title.
Despite a fantastic opening, Dulwich Village’s control had collapsed when a controversial free kick caught them off guard to level the score for Dulwich United in the 30th minute.
Dulwich Village bounced straight back however, after they restored their advantage on the stroke of half time following a goal from Freddie Brown. The score was 2-1 going into the interval.
The U15 White did not make the same mistake twice after they added to their lead in the second half. This came from a moment of magic from Domar Ingram, who progressed the ball from his own half, weaving through the opposition with some outstanding skill and finished with aplomb to wrap up the contest as 3-1.
Realism had sunk in for the U15 White. They were crowned champions following a series of hard work and persistence throughout the season.
The Men Behind it All
Dulwich Village U15 White coach Tony Dolan has dedicated eight of the last nine years coaching at Dulwich Village. He is a perfect example as to how rewarding coaching a young grass roots team can be, as he described the jubilant title win as the “perfect birthday present”. Tony has involved his whole livelihood into Dulwich Village Football Club as his son and his daughter have both played for the club. Furthermore his wife Toni also helps out tremendously within the club.
Aaron Williams, who also coaches Dulwich Village U15 White, has further contributed five years as a coach for the club. Additionally, he has helped out at the club for the past twelve years, since he was 14 years old. Aaron’s efforts portray how attentive the Dulwich Village FC community is, and just how passionate he and the other coaches are about supporting the football club and the players in it.
Both Tony and Aaron deserve many of the plaudits for this spectacular achievement in winning the league title. Furthermore all of the coaches deserve a lot of recognition and praise for what they do for Dulwich Village FC.
